Wrekin runners are pleased to be hosting two SOLD OUT charity screenings at local Independent cinema, Wellington Orbit, in support of severn hospice this December.
Each year prior to the pandemic, Wrekin Road Runners would organise a relay challenge around the base of the Wrekin with all profits from the event going to a local charity.
In 2020 the chosen charity was Severn Hospice, but unfortunately due to Covid, the planned events couldn’t go ahead. Therefore, they have decided to work with Wellington Orbit to host some Christmas cinema screenings to make up for some of the lost time and support, with a percentage of profits being donated to the Severn Hospice.
Pauline Kesek, Chairman of Wrekin Road Runners said:
“We are thrilled to be kicking off our support for local charities once again, albeit in a different format. The Orbit is the perfect venue for such an event and we couldn’t be more grateful for their support”.
Damian Breeze, Manager at Wellington Orbit said:
“We love to support as many local initiatives and activities as possible and we couldn’t be more delighted to be the venue of choice for Wrekin Runner’s charity cinema screenings”.
The two screenings of The Holiday, set for 6th and 7th December have already sold out with many members of the community eager to support their local charities and running club.
Wrekin Runners annual relay event will return in 2022 with all profits going to the Hospice, albeit 2 years later than planned.
