Update: 10/03/2024
The Community Share Offer played its part in enabling us to acquire the freehold, but although it is now closed we are retaining the detail for historic relevance. This is not to say that we are not now welcoming new members, and in fact would be pleased to receive applications from as many members of the community as possible.
By doing so you will be making a declaration that you support the aims of the Society and will have a say in its running, by attending general meetings and having the ability to vote with the other members on a one member one vote basis, no matter how large your shareholding is. By doing so it will be you together with other members who will control the Society.
Membership costs a minimum of £10 but we would also add that the tax benefits of Social Investment Tax Relief have now been withdrawn.
We trade as a Community Arts Centre with the aim of providing arts and cultural facilities for the benefit of the community in our building. Our core activities at the moment are a 63 seat and a community café carried out on the ground floor. Our aspirations are to redevelop the upper floors to enhance the facilities available to the community.
Like any investment, any money you invest in community shares is fully at risk. You could lose some or all of your money if the society gets into financial difficulties.
Community Shares offers are exempt from, or outside the scope of, statutory regulations that apply to the public offer of shares and other financial promotions. Applicants have no recourse to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme or the Financial Ombudsman Service.
You should ask the advice of an independent financial advisor before proceeding with your application and be aware that you may be putting your capital at risk
We want to make the shares accessible to as many people as possible.
Minimum investment:
£10 if living in TF postcode
£50 if living elsewhere
