Cinema returning to full capacity
From today, the cinema will now be operating at full capacity (63 seats) as we deem demand will now be sufficient to operate at 63 seats and social distancing will be removed as permitted by law.
Back in July the UK Government lifted the requirement for venues to have social distancing. Unlike other cinemas in the borough, we adopted a policy of having one seat vacant between unconnected groups as a courtesy to our guests.
With the aid of Government support, we have been able to preserve jobs and the asset that the community fought so hard to get in the first place remains intact. As we look forward, Government support is not guaranteed and therefore to ensure the long-term future of Wellington Orbit, we must return to our full capacity of 63. This ensures we are a viable business and will allow us to continue to be here for the community.
If any customer feels uneasy about this, they are advised to book their seats later in the run of a film, and to check our website to judge the likely attendance for that film as we would anticipate that there will still be screenings below our maximum capacity in the run of any film we are showing. Our team will be happy to help you with any queries you have.
Finally, you can rest assured that your health and wellbeing continues to be our top priority and our enhanced cleaning and sanitisation processes will remain in place in our fully ventilated cinema.
