We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a grant from The National Lottery Community Fund under the Government’s Coronavirus Community Support Fund.
As the country is gradually getting back over the coming months to normality with the easing of restrictions, we have applied for funding to enable us to show to organisations who work with people in need the screening of a film and the provision of refreshments for free. It is well established that movies can have a positive impact upon mental health and the films will be specially selected to impart a feeling of relaxation hope and optimism on the audience beyond having an essential entertainment factor and we are hoping that this will help to combat issues such groups have faced through a long period of isolation.
We are working with Telford and Wrekin Council to ensure that the award is publicised as widely as possible and we will use other media outlets so that all eligible organisations are aware of the offer.
In the first instance, we would ask for organisations to send to an expression of interest to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will then make arrangements to provide a day for these groups to remember.
This funding from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund, which has been distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund, has helped us to fulfil our objectives of making our facilities available to the benefit of the community in these uniquely challenging times and we would like to express our thanks to the Government for making this possible.
