Upcoming Scaffolding Works at Wellington Orbit

We’re delighted to share that Phase 2 of Wellington Orbit’s redevelopment continues to progress at pace. The next step in this exciting journey involves replacing windows and carrying out essential roof repairs to our building. To safely deliver this work, scaffolding will be installed in two phases over the summer period.

The first stage of scaffolding will be erected on Church Street, directly in front of the Wellington Orbit building, and will be in place for three weeks from Sunday 13th July to Saturday 3rd August. During this time, the scaffolding will remain within the boundaries of the pavement and our cinema and café will continue to operate as normal.

Following this, the second stage of scaffolding will be installed on Station Road, at the side of the building, from Sunday 4th August to Wednesday 28th August. Due to the narrow width of the pavement, and to ensure continued access to the train station and neighbouring businesses, three disabled parking bays on Station Road will be temporarily closed during this period. Pedestrian and vehicle access will be maintained throughout both phases of the works.

These works have been registered and authorised by Telford & Wrekin Council under Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) TCD-491 and Scaffolding Licence SSH/AS/467. The scaffolding installation and associated building works are being carried out by our appointed contractor, Paveaways Ltd.

Cinema and Cafe remain open as normal

We’d like to reassure customers that Wellington Orbit’s operations will remain unaffected throughout the scaffolding works, and all facilities will remain open as usual. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience and support as we continue our journey toward making Phase 2 a reality.
